The IPA’s Legal Defense Fund

The Board of Directors has established the International Paruresis Association’s new Legal Defense Fund (LDF). The LDF is a unique account that can be tapped to provide Paruresis sufferers with financial assistance to empower legal professionals representing them. It is unfortunate that people with Paruresis continue to be treated unfairly by employers and the criminal justice system simply because they are unable to produce a urine sample on demand. The LDF is another tool in the IPA toolkit to support these individuals.

Any application for assistance from the fund is fully vetted and approved by the executive committee of the IPA Board. While many cases are worthy, at this time the IPA is only able to select just one or two applicants each year. As the fund grows, we hope to expand our support.
