Privacy Policy for the IPA

This is the web site of the International Paruresis Association (IPA). Our postal address is P.O. Box 21237, Catonsville, MD 21228 in the USA. You may reach us via email at getinfo@paruresis.org or by telephone at 1-800-247-3864.

The IPA collects the email addresses of those who communicate with us via email and information volunteered by you such as survey information and/or site registrations, and name, address, and phone number for those who request our products, register for workshops, or join our organization.

The IPA collects the postal addresses, names, and phone numbers of those who communicate with us via postal mail, join our organization, register for workshops, or purchase our products.

The information collected is used to notify you about updates to our Web site, fulfill your requests for information, and/or send you periodic mailings from the IPA with information on our programs, news, requests for donations, or upcoming events. (We attempt to minimize the number of contacts).  If you do not want to receive email from us in the future, please let us know by sending email, writing to us at the above address, or noting it on your Donation Form.

It is IPA’s policy not to release any of your personal information outside the IPA organization or its SBC colleagues. For example, we do not sell collected information, electronic or postal, to other organizations whether they are commercial or non-profit. We do not intend to release any personal information to private or governmental institutions, even for research purposes, without your express approval. If you have any concerns, please notify us through the Contact the IPA form or by email to getinfo@paruresis.org.

The IPA may share information collected on you with Shy Bladder Center colleagues. The Shy Bladder Center (SBC) is a collaboration established to provide individual treatment and psychosocial educational groups for people suffering from paruresis, or shy bladder syndrome. The SBC also facilitates the establishment of support or self-help groups across the country for those suffering from this social anxiety disorder.
